The York Press, 30 May 2015Lubos Filek has been given a six-month suspended prison sentence with 100 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to having an imitation firearm in a public place 

in Selby, North Yorkshire. Filek purchased a 4.5 millimetre air rifle and took it to a nightclub on his way home, where he was seen holding it by security staff. He 

said that he did not know it was illegal to have the gun in a public place as the law is different in Slovakia from where he originates.

An assistant is thought to have been threatened with a handgun during a robbery at a shop in Northampton.  The cashier was assaulted.  A man has admitted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm (see July 2010 Incidents).

A man was treated in hospital for serious facial injuries after being shot while sitting in his van outside a vet’s surgery in Cambuslang, Scotland. A car pulled up alongside the victim’s vehicle before a gunman got out and reportedly discharged a firearm through the van window in what police believe was a targeted attack. The injured man managed to drive off to seek help. It has since been confirmed that the gunman’s car, stolen two months ago, was later found burnt out.

Hajdar Kasumaj has been jailed for 20 years after being convicted of manslaughter and attempted murder in east London. Two men were shot and killed in July, and Kasumaj was found guilty after reportedly carrying out the shootings with a handgun. He was originally charged with murder, apparently shooting both victims at close range. He was also found guilty of possession of a short prohibited weapon.

It has been reported that someone in a car shot at the windscreen of another vehicle before both cars became involved in a high-speed chase through Southampton, Hampshire. Police have urged the drivers to come forward and appealed for information, particularly from those with dashcam footage.
