Armed police officers were deployed after a man was seen in a pub in Leeds, west Yorkshire with what appeared to be a gun. The suspect was arrested nearby and an imitation firearm was recovered.



Ja’neal Dennis, 27, and Kyle Checkley, 26, have been jailed for six-and-a-half years and three years, nine months, respectively, for drug offences and conspiracy to sell a prohibited weapon. The two men were part of a gang that dealt Class A drugs in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, with Dennis being found in possession of 30 heroin parcels and 19 crack cocaine parcels in June 2021. His mobile phones revealed information about other gang members and conversations with Checkley about the sale of a sawn-off shotgun.

After police officers found several firearms and unidentified chemicals while searching a flat in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, nearby homes were evacuated while the scene was checked out. Two men have since been arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms.

Halifax Courier


Three men have been arrested on suspicion of the discharge of a firearm after gunshots were fired three times within nine days in residential areas of Halifax, West Yorkshire. No injuries have been reported.

Welwyn Hatfield Times


Kamal Hussun, aged 23, has been jailed for six-and-a-half years after admitting conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin, and possession of a sawn-off shotgun. Hussun, a county lines drug runner in Welwyn Hatfield, Hertfordshire, was captured on CCTV dealing drugs to an undercover police officer. In addition, his DNA was recovered from a sawn-off shotgun found in a bush outside a block of flats in London in July 2020.



Police Tasered a man after he reportedly “smashed up” a property in Birmingham, West Midlands and approached responding officers with a knife. Click on media link to read full report.

Doncaster Free Press


Neil Fiori, a 43-year-old firearms licence holder, has been jailed for three years and nine months after pleading guilty to six counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possessing ammunition without authority and two counts of failure to comply with conditions of firearms certificate. When police officers searched Fiori’s home in Doncaster, South Yorkshire in September this year, they recovered five pistols and a rifle that could take self-contained gas cartridges or a conventional bullet. Also found were four 9mm cartridges and at least three self-contained gas cartridge charging tools, enough to fire a conventional and lethal bullet. Fiori also had 850 rounds of ammunition, 250 more than his licence allowed.

Douglas Price, aged 38, has been handed a suspended nine-month prison term and ordered to pay costs and complete 120 hours of unpaid work and up to 25 rehabilitation activity days after pleading guilty to possession of a shotgun without a certificate. In February last year, up to six people armed with a machete threw rocks at two trucks at a farm in Clayton, West Yorkshire. They then used their car to ram a caravan occupied by Price’s son-in-law and his daughter, causing “considerable damage”. After the assailants fled on foot, Price fired a shotgun into the back of their abandoned car. When police officers responded, Price told them he had been given the firearm three years previously. The gun and ammunition were forfeited to the court.



Adam Sullivan has been jailed for six years after being found guilty of possession of a firearm without a certificate. Following a tip-off in September this year, police officers recovered a 7.62 calibre Tokarev model TT33 self-loading pistol that had been hidden in plastic bags down the side of a shed in Huyton, Merseyside. Sullivan’s DNA was recovered from the internal spring and guide rod of the firearm.
