A man went to hospital with severe hand and arm injuries after reports of gunfire in a neighbourhood in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Police sealed off the area while they carried out an investigation into the suspected shooting.

A 38-year-old woman has been attacked by armed robbers at her home in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The victim was approached by one of the men when he knocked at her door and asked to use her phone. The other man then held a metal object which she believed to be a gun to her head. The pair escaped with her mobile phone, leaving the victim shaken but uninjured.

A member of the public saw a man believed to brandishing a firearm at an industrial estate near Moulton, Northamptonshire. Armed officers were dispatched to the area but found no evidence of either the alleged gunman or his weapon.

A 19-year-old man was threatened by a masked man with what he believed to be handgun in the woods near Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. The robber demanded that the victim empty his pockets and escaped with cigarettes he had taken from the teenager.

Workers at a betting shop in Crawley, Surrey have been threatened by an armed robber. The man pointed the gun at staff and demanded cash. He left the shop with the money, firing shots with what appeared to be a BB gun before escaping in a car that was parked outside during the robbery.

Three masked men have allegedly used a handgun and a heavy bar to break into a house in Halifax, West Yorkshire and rob the people inside. The robbers demanded cash from the victims and escaped on foot with mobile phones they had stolen.

The property was searched after a man who was arrested in a police operation in the area was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

Jewellery, cash, a cheque book, a baseball bat and an air rifle in its case have been stolen from a home in Hardwicke, Gloucestershire. The burglar appeared to have gained access to the house using a crow bar and hammer taken from a shed in the garden of the property.

A golden eagle was wounded with a shotgun on a coastal pathway in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The rare bird was starving when found as injuries to its tail and wings had prevented it from flying to search for food. The animal was taken to a National Wildlife Rescue Centre for treatment after it was discovered by a member of the public who alerted the SSPCA.
