Armed officers were dispatched after reports of man with a gun in South Ealing, west London. Police arrested a 29-year-old man who has been charged with possessing an imitation firearm in public.

Shots were fired at a home in Sheffield, South Yorkshire while a family was asleep inside. Damage was caused to a downstairs bedroom window and a door, but neither the couple nor their children were injured. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A cashier at a bank in Leicester has been threatened by two men armed with what is believed to be handgun. They stole cash from the premises before escaping on foot. Police did not link the incident to a series of other robberies that had taken place in the city, but did not rule out a connection.

The shooting of three badgers found dead near Colemere, Shropshire has been confirmed after post-mortems were carried out on the bodies of the animals. The Shropshire Badger Group believe the animals, two of which had shotgun wounds and one which had been shot with a specialised rifle, were killed elsewhere and dumped where their bodies were found. The group's chairman said that, despite the trial cull in Gloucestershire, “it is still illegal to kill badgers and we want to remind people of this.”

Trident Gang Command officers have found a rifle, a sawn-off shotgun and four handguns during raids on a number of properties in south London boroughs in continuing efforts to target organised crime in the city. Five men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences. Commenting on the operation, the Head of Trident stated that, "The number of shootings taking place in London has also significantly reduced, with 28 per cent fewer incidents than last year."

Firearms officers were called to an area of Barrow, Lancashire after reports of a disturbance during which a man was seen holding BB gun. Police arrested two women and two men on suspicion of affray and recovered a samurai sword. Another man was arrested after a police officer was reportedly pushed to the floor.

Shots have allegedly been fired on a street in Thrussington, Leicestershire. A vehicle was reported to have been seen driving away from the scene of the incident. No one was injured.

Ten men and one woman have been arrested during a police operation across Merseyside to tackle drugs, money laundering, firearms and the violence associated with them. One of the men was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to possess firearms during searches which uncovered a cannabis farm and class A drugs.

A three-year-old cat has been shot in the neck with an airgun in Melton, Leicestershire. She was shot at close range and required surgery to remove the pellet.

A 50-year-old employee has been assaulted by two men armed with a gun at a bakery in Battersea, south London. The pair broke into the shop as she was opening it and dragged her to the back of the shop where they threatened her with a gun to obtain the keys to the safe. When the victim fought back she was kicked in the chest, sustaining bruising for which she was taken to hospital. The assailants escaped in a vehicle driven by a third man and police have appealed for witnesses.
