A man has been assaulted by two men armed with a knife and what appeared to be a gun in Salford, Greater Manchester. The assailants followed and attacked the victim from behind, stealing his mobile phone and bank cards. The pair then frogmarched him to his home, and threatened to stab him when he was unable to withdraw cash when they stopped at a cash machine. One of the attackers put the victim's hand into his pocket, where he touched an object that felt like a gun, and threatened to shoot him. When he was able to struggle free, the men fled on foot.

A man has been charged after using a black imitation handgun to threaten another man before assaulting him at a restaurant in Southend, Essex.

Two men have been injured when their car was shot as they were driving through West Derby, Merseyside. One of the victims was hit in the upper body and the other was shot in the back and shoulder, but they continued to drive before crashing into a number of parked cars. They were taken to hospital where their condition is reported to be "serious but stable". Police have begun an investigation and the search for a third man believed to be in the vehicle when it was targeted.

At least six shots have been fired from an airgun at a Royal British Legion club in Snettisham, Norfolk. Two double-glazed windows were shattered but no one was injured. The windows of a vehicle in the town were also smashed in what is believed to have been an airgun attack.

A masked raider has threatened an employee with a gun at a supermarket in Manchester. The robber held what appeared to be a gun in a plastic bag and told staff he was armed with a firearm before fleeing with cash from the till. Police have appealed for information.

A member of staff has been injured after an attack by three masked men armed with a knife and a gun at a garage in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The employee was threatened and suffered hand injuries for which he received treatment in hospital. The robbers escaped on foot with cash and cigarettes.

Shots have been fired on two residential streets in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. A car was hit by another vehicle before it was fired at and then two shots were fired at a property from a vehicle. No one was injured but a bullet was later found in the garden of the house. Police said they believed both incidents were targeted attacks in an ongoing dispute between rival groups.

A male police officer has died in a firearms incident at a police station in Glasgow, Strathclyde. No one else is believed to have been involved in the shooting. Officers from another police force have begun an investigation into the circumstances of his death.

A 17-year-old youth has been arrested after a series of attempted armed robberies at businesses throughout Bradford, West Yorkshire in one four-hour period. A masked robber threatened employees at two shops and two post offices in the city with what appeared to be a handgun. In each of the hold-ups, he demanded money but fled without stealing any items.

Police have discovered two hand-made stun guns, a handgun, flares, chemicals and a controlled substance during an investigation at a property in Birkdale, Merseyside. A bomb disposal team was dispatched to assist officers and the fire service in an ongoing search of the house. Police arrested a 51-year-old man, who has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, on suspicion of possessing a firearm and a controlled drug.
