A shotgun was allegedly fired multiple times into the entrance of a block of flats in Southampton, Hampshire. No one was injured and police said they believed the incident to have been a targeted attack. A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Officers were deployed after receiving reports of a teenager with what looked like a handgun in Nottingham. Police reported finding young people with BB guns playing in the area.

Tudor Gheorghiu has been jailed for 12 months for using an imitation firearm to threaten two TV repair workers outside his home in Sandy, Bedfordshire. He brandished the BB gun and asked the men if they wanted to be shot, in the belief that they were going to leave his home without the broken TV set he had failed to have collected on two previous occasions. Gheorghiu stood in the victims' way to prevent them from leaving but they were able to escape in their van.

Jaqueline Crewe, 49, has been given an 18-month suspended sentence with supervision for possession of a stun gun manufactured to look like a mobile phone. Crewe avoided the statutory five year minimum sentence because she admitted being in possession of the weapon with the assistance of her community mental health team, who were helping her to manage a personality disorder and alcohol problems. Police recovered the weapon from her home in Wrexham, Clwyd and did not find a charger.

A man has been shot dead after the gun he was holding discharged during a struggle with unarmed officers during a drugs raid at a property in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The 49-year-old is alleged to have confronted police who had entered the house to execute a search warrant and refused to take his hands from behind his back. The weapon is reported to have discharged as officers tried to restrain the man, who died at the scene from his injuries. The incident has been referred to the IPCC for investigation.

Three people have been injured after they were shot at with an air rifle on a street in Blackburn, Lancashire. They were left with pellet marks and bruising but did not require hospital treatment.

A man with what appeared to be a gun threatened three members of staff during a robbery of a pub in Runcorn, Liverpool. He used the weapon to force one of the victims into the building where he demanded money from the three workers. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving the victims shaken but unhurt.

A male swan has been shot to death with an air rifle over a lake in Portsmouth, Hampshire. It was shot five times and was attacked by other swans when it crashed into the lake. It was rescued but had to be put down as it had sustained severe pellet injuries to its body and leg and a broken beak.

A man has been assaulted by two men with a stun gun, who stole his car keys and drove off after forcing him into the vehicle in Oldham, Greater Manchester. The assailants attempted to tie the victim up and put a hood over his face but he was able to escape from the moving car, and was left with injuries to his leg from the stun gun and from the fall. The vehicle was later found in the town.

Police were deployed after an airgun was reportedly stolen from a house near Canterbury, Kent and the suspect was said to have been spotted in the city. No arrests were reported.
