Following a report of men stealing items and threatening residents after breaking into a property in Brighton, East Sussex, police officers stopped a vehicle suspected of being used in the incident. Items including a firearm and a sledgehammer were seized from the vehicle and two men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without certificate, aggravated burglary with intent and possession of a knife/pointed article in a public place.
Police officers raiding a site in Gloucester, Gloucestershire found two shotguns, a dismantled firearm, two loaded crossbows and stolen property. Eleven dogs were also discovered at the site, three of which were suspected to have been stolen.
22-year-old Illyas Abudaber, one of five men sentenced for their involvement in a drug dealing operation in Manchester, has been jailed for twelve years for conspiracy to supply drugs, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of ammunition and other offences. Abudaber was arrested in October 2019 following a police pursuit that ended when he drove over a stinger device. Officers subsequently recovered a firearm with a barrel less than 30cm, ammunition, drugs and stolen property. Detectives, who began looking into the gang’s activities in 2017, apprehended the other four offenders after “a long-running and complex investigation”. They were sentenced for conspiracy to supply drugs, including cocaine.

David Noutch has been jailed for 41 months after admitting theft, use of a firearm with intent to resist arrest and assaulting police officers. In July 2021, police were called to a store in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear after Noutch had been seen shoplifting. Noutch took a Taser from one of the officers and pointed it at him, going on to injure both officers as he resisted arrest. He was safely detained after three members of the public helped subdue him.
