Three men, Mark Osbourne, Tony Osbourne and Wayne Collins, have been convicted of killing a man in Romford, Essex, in June 2007 (see Incidents). Nine bullets were fired at the victim from a sub-machine gun. The victim had owed the Osbourne brothers, who were drug dealers, £28000. Sentencing will occur later.

A pensioner had a gun, a black handgun, pointed at his head and was punched more than 15 times during a robbery at his home in Bletchingley, Surrey. Two men burst into the house but the victim managed to flee after shutting them inside one of his rooms. By the time the police arrived the suspects had disappeared.

Police seized suspected cocaine, an air pistol and a ball bearing gun at a property in Bovey Tracey, Devon. A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

An armed gang of five men stormed a flat in Croydon, south London, fired a gun and threatened a five-year-old girl. Her father was marched into another room and pistol-whipped as the men demanded to know what valuables were in the property. The robbers fled with several items.
