Gun incidents in Great Britain
This information is compiled by GCN from media reports of incidents in England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland has different gun legislation. We know the information is incomplete, though we believe nearly all of the most serious crimes are included.
Hereford Times
Police officers carrying out a warrant at a property in Grafton, Herefordshire recovered cash, suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, an axe and a BB gun. A man and woman were arrested for drug offences.

Armed police officers were deployed following reports of a man with a gun at a shop in Longton, Staffordshire. A man, found nearby carrying a small toy gun, was given words of advice.

A man has died after being shot at a property in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Police officers recovered a shotgun at the scene. A man has since been charged with murder, assault by beating of an emergency worker and a public order offence.

Armed police officers responded following a report of a gun being fired twice from a window of a high-rise block of flats in Portsmouth, Hampshire. A suspected imitation gun was seized at the scene and a man and teenage boy were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. The man was further arrested for possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug.
North Wales Chronicle
Police officers carrying out a warrant at an address in Bangor, Gwynedd seized cash, drugs and several weapons including a baseball bat, a sword and imitation firearms. A man was arrested at the scene in connection with the finds.

Ambulance staff alerted police after attending an address in Monks Eleigh, Suffolk where a woman had been injured by a suspected air weapon. She was treated in hospital for a chest injury. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Armed police officers were deployed following a report that a handgun had been used in a burglary. A car was stopped in Bradford, West Yorkshire and a male occupant was arrested in connection with the incident.
The Packet
Luke Tedray, aged 25, has been jailed for 31 months after admitting possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and affray. In December 2025, Tedray was ejected from a pub in Redruth, Cornwall after becoming “a nuisance” while drunk. When he returned to the pub with an imitation gun in his waistband, the landlord punched him. The gun fell to the floor and has not been recovered. On sentencing, the judge said, “Luke Tedray’s actions caused fear and panic amongst innocent members of the public who were simply enjoying their evening. We will not tolerate the use or display of firearms in our communities. Anyone who chooses to carry or use a weapon in this way can expect to face serious consequences.”

Gemma Jones, from Wrexham, North Wales has been jailed for three years after admitting supplying cocaine and possessing a disguised Taser weapon.
