After he admitted drug offences and possessing a pepper spray and a stun gun, 25-year-old Ryan Rose, from Midhurst, West Sussex, was handed a rehabilitation activity requirement and ordered to complete 100 hours’ unpaid work and pay costs.
A masked man allegedly threatened staff with a gun before stealing money from a petrol station in Lees, Greater Manchester. Police have appealed for information.
Irmantas Senkus, aged 39, has been handed a 28-day suspended jail term after admitting possessing an imitation firearm and causing a person to fear violence would be used against him. Following an altercation in March this year, Senkus threatened a neighbour with a Beretta APX CO2-powered Airsoft handgun. His neighbour, who had been wielding a baseball bat, was unsure if the gun was real and feared for his life. Senkus, from Pwllheli, Gwynned, was arrested the following day. The judge ordered him to pay a £128 victim surcharge and forfeit the gun.
After police officers recovered drugs, ammunition and designer gear during raids in Greater Manchester, Merseyside, North Wales, and Durham, five men and one woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs. Khuram Yaqoob, aged 32, has been jailed for seven years after pleading guilty to illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition. After they received information about firearms and ammunition being advertised for sale on social media, police officers searched Yaqoob’s home in Bradford, West Yorkshire in June this year. The officers recovered blank-firing ammunition, ball bearings and fireworks — believed to be used for making bullets — as well as two pistols and a shotgun cartridge. Yaqoob was arrested nearby on the same day.
Armed police officers were deployed following a disturbance at an address in Newton Aycliffe, Co.Durham. A man was subsequently charged with the attempted murder of a woman, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of two shotguns and possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate. There were no reports of any injuries that required hospital treatment.
Police officers arrested a man on suspicion of possession of a firearm and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug after they recovered a gun, a sword and Class A drugs at a home in Bedford, Bedfordshire. The gun had been hidden in a washing machine.

Armed police officers were deployed in Cowes, Isle of Wight after a man was seen carrying a suspected firearm. The man was arrested nearby on suspicion of being in possession of a firearm without a certificate and a woman was subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiring to possess a firearm.
After intercepting a package that contained Class A drugs, police officers executed a warrant at a property in Dunstable, Bedfordshire and recovered pepper spray, a knuckle duster, cash and drugs. A man was arrested on suspicion of importing a controlled drug, possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs, possession of a firearm and possession of an offensive weapon.
