An inquest has opened into the death of a man found with gunshot wounds in woodland in Shouldham Thorpe, Norfolk.  The cause of death was chest and stomach injuries caused by a shotgun.

A jury has heard that police searching a home in Stonehouse, Plymouth, in August 2009 found a powerful stun gun.  Andrew Adamson has been jailed for possessing cocaine with intent to supply and having a banned weapon (The Herald (Plymouth), 29 January 2010)

An employee at a bookmakers in Belsize Park, north London, was hit with a gun, had a knife held to his throat and was punched and kicked during a robbery.  It is the second armed robbery in the area in two weeks.  Staff at a café had been held up at gunpoint earlier in the month.

A maggot farmer suffered a fractured skull when he was attacked by three raiders who were armed with a crowbar, an airgun and a knife.  The attack took place in Edgworth, Lancashire.  The gang stole a van belonging to the victim before abandoning it nearby.

A gun handed into police in Chippenham, Wiltshire, and believed to be a starter pistol turned out to be real.  The weapon had been found in a park by a dog walker and has been sent for destruction.

Jamie Bunter has been locked up indefinitely and will serve at least 12 years for a racist shotgun attack on a man in Mitcham, south London.  The victim was attacked simply because of the colour of his skin and his life was saved only because a faulty cocking mechanism prevented the cartridge from exploding.  Bunter was found guilty of attempted murder, robbery and firearms charges.  He was with two other men at the time of the attack and they were armed with a .410-calibre double-barrelled sawn-off shotgun, a loaded revolver and a knife.
