Police arrested two men in London's Trafalgar Square on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm. Armed response officers had stopped and searched a group of four youths.

A group of three teenagers fired a ball-bearing gun at a bus as it waited at a stop in Bamber Bridge. The blast of the pellet made a hole in a window. Several passengers were on the bus but escaped uninjured.

Three people were held at gunpoint when a masked robber, armed with a shotgun, forced his way into a pub in Slough. Staff were ordered to open the safe and hand over two days worth of takings, thought to be thousands of pounds.

A gunman opened fire in a residential street in Woodsetton in Dudley in the West Midlands, leaving a man with head and stomach injuries. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The victim was threatened by two men who demanded his briefcase.
