Two teenage boys, aged 14 and 15, allegedly assaulted a pizza delivery man with a firearm and stole his bag on a street in Grays, Essex. The pair reportedly approached the victim as he was leaving a residential property and threatened him with a gun, before escaping with his delivery bag. They were arrested shortly afterwards at a nearby railway station.

An SA80 assault rifle has been discovered to be missing after the Royal Scots Borderers returned from a six-month tour of Afghanistan to their barracks in Dreghorn, North Ayshire. An investigation has been started to locate the missing weapon.

An inquest has found that Nicholas Peter Barker, 51, deliberately took his own life with a shotgun in the front garden of his home in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. He was found with a gunshot wound to the head and the gun at his feet by his neighbour after he heard a banging noise. Baker was believed to have been depressed over concerns that his disability benefits were going to be stopped after a recent re-assessment.

Kyrone Daley and Sanchez Thomas, both 19, have been jailed for a minimum of 22 and 25 years respectively for shooting dead a man as he sat in his car outside his home in Norwood, south London. They fired a .32 calibre handgun at the victim's head from close range in a planned killing having possibly mistaken him for his younger brother, who had stabbed Thomas three months earlier in a gang-related incident. The shooters escaped and the 25-year-old was taken to hospital but died the following day.

A Police Community Support Officer was shot with a BB gun in Torquay, Devon. A 24-year old man has been arrested and charged with possession of a BB gun.

Two people have been threatened by two men armed with a gun at a home in Blackley, Greater Manchester. The pair threw a brick through the kitchen door window and broke into the property where they assaulted one victim and demanded cash from him and another man in the house. The assailants escape empty handed after being told there was no money in the property.

A bullet has been fired through the window of a downstairs room at a house in Liverpool, Merseyside. Police were called to the scene but no arrests have been made. This followed the shooting of another house in the same road two months prior which occurred while an infant was in the property and was believed to be a case of mistaken identity.

A small amount of cannabis and an air pistol have been recovered during police raids on properties in Nottingham. The searches were part of a wider operation to tackle drug dealing, guns and gang activity in the city.

A man was arrested on suspicion of illegally poaching deer without permission from the landowner in Solihull, West Midlands. The 46-year-old was seen with a firearm and carrying a deer over his shoulder at the nature reserve and arrested after police traced his car licence plate details to a house at which a large amount of deer meat was found in the freezer. He admitted shooting the animal and was given a caution.

Gary Burch has been placed under three-year supervision on condition he undergoes an alcohol treatment programme after pleading guilty to possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He pointed the realistic fake nine millimetre handgun at a paramedic when the ambulance service was called to his home in Oldbury, West Midlands. The victim was able to force Burch to drop the gun, which was later found to be an air pistol.
